They were right, It does get better when you believe it does, even when everything seems to be falling apart.

I was going through my old documents and found a few of my writings, and thought to share it on the interweb. For anyone going through a tough time as a socially awkward introvert. This is for you.

It does get better,

Whatever you manifest inside of you do happen in reality, the way you were feeling anxious and nervous before was all because you were living inside of your brain. All you had to do was to calm down and ease a little so people could approach you. You proved that today, you accidently came into the wrong lecture for a purpose and that was to make you visible. A guy sat beside you and initiated a conversation; that was a start, no it started last semester right, when you met Karry, and ever since then your Uni life had improved. Im so proud of you; see it does gets better. You are confidently sipping this caramel cha time tea in the food court, observing all these students a you write this. You notice not their appearance but you wonder about their life, what their story might be, are they going through a rough time right now? Some of these people could be despressed, you never really know; you were one of them. No youre not saying theres anything wrong with being depressed, in fact its totally normal. And you know we all go through it, that’s life.  Kudos to you, you’ve already gotten out of the rut! Now that doesn’t mean it wll never come back, it most definitely will and you know it will but when that time comes, you know that you will get out of it stronger and with more wisdom. You know YOU WILL, because you’ve already been there before.

“I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint – and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.” - Oprah Winfrey

im nervous, heart is aching a bit, am I nervous about the event, or is it something else that’s bothering me? His lies still bothering me, idk if he’s telling the truth or not, how many times has he lied? Did he lie about everything? Why am I still doubting him, it doesn’t matter know does it? No of course not, his only a friend to you, it shouldn’t matter; you were always in his least priorities, one lie, now everything he does you question. But it should all be over now, if he’s happy with someone else, then you should be happy for him. That will set you free. Right.

Why bother creating a Vision Board?

BeFunky Collage
I made this digital version through funky.com with photos I found via Pinterest. You can always print it, frame it and hang onto your wall. Or grab your photos manually from various magazines of your choice.

A vision board is a collage of images, sayings, quotes and anything that helps you visualise your ideal lifestyle and who you want to be. Other than bringing you inspiration, having a vision brings clarity to your dreams and helps you stay focused when you get sidetracked or stressed. It reminds you what really matters for you in your life.

This collage can consist of categories from career, relationships, health, wealth, happiness, hobby and whatever you can think of that adds value into your life.

Finding your purpose is already tricky in itself when you don’t list out your interest. The first step to finding your purpose is to set an intention. Ask yourself, what do I want my life to look like in 1, 5 10 years time? What activities/skills/hobbies I would like to pursue that brings joy into my life?

Deepak Chopra suggests asking yourself two questions:
1. “How will this intention serve me?”
2. “How will it serve everybody I come into contact with?”
Chopra says, “If the answer to both questions can be distilled to true happiness and fulfillment, then you are on the right track.”

Benefits:
1. A vision board provides clarity on your dreams and make them into reality. By having these visualizations nearby helps with rewiring your brain to formulate more positive thoughts and starts to create a positive mental energy which in turn keeps the momentum going. When you are surrounded with tangible reminders of your dream, your life will change to match them.

2. When we’re feeling lost or filled with self-doubt, we tend to looks for answers outside of ourselves. Creating a vision board requires digging into your subcouncious allowing you to discover the deepest matters that mean most to you. This is called awakening your subconscious, only after looking inwards are we allowed to embrace our authenticity.

3. Having your dreams layout in a collage provides a sense of direction in terms of what qualities/attributes/personal goal you want achieved in a specific time frame. it’s a great reminder of your goals and dreams on a daily basis and extremely helpful when you find yourself stuck in a rut along the way. A visual reminder gives you the motivation to face those down times and get back into your feet.

Benefits of Bullet Journalling

Disclaimer this is not a how to journal bullet post. The intention of this post is to spark some inspiration for you to try out and gain some personal benefits in the process.

Background

Bullet journaling was created by Ryder Caroll; designed to be a customizable and forgiving organisation system. It can be your to-do-list, sketchbook, notebook, and diary, but most likely, it will be all of the above.

Benefits

     1.  It’s customizable to your own needs and desires:

Being the Frugal type, I couldn’t forge myself into spending at least $60 on a planner with custom-designed pages. I found this bullet journal at Daiso selling for $2.80! I instantly fell in love with its design, and I just added $5.60 for brush pens to my shopping basket and with coloured pens, highlighters and ruler at home I can draw in and decorate my own pages.

Pro tip: You could use washi tape to decorate or help you colour code things in your bullet journal.

      2.  It’s easy to set up:

If you suck at lettering, drawing and design in general, It can seem intimidating to look at a blank notebook and realise its up to you to fill in the design and content, especially when you have come across other people’s bullet journal online, but this should not stop you from designing your own, take them as an inspiration. You can always go basic and keep it as simple as mine.

  3.  It keeps your life organised

Since everything is in one book, it’s easy to keep track of everything in your life, so you won’t lose your to-do list between days. It’s easy to see at a glance what you need to do that day, and you can create monthly pages so you can see more long-term what you need to be doing.

It also allows you to turn to an empty page and start making a list:

-       To do list
-       Books to read list
-       Grocery list
-       Bucket list
-       Movies to watch list
-       You get the gist, anything that comes into mind has a place in the planner, so it wont be forgotten or lost.

  4.  It sparks productivity + a great for tracking long-term goals.

If you’d like to keep track of your productivity across time. Bullet journaling is the best way to do it. Since everything is kept inside one notebook, you can see what you struggle with and what patterns you’ve fallen into.

For example:

Every month, create a habit and emotion tracker. Each day when you have accomplished your goal, you mark off for that day and try to keep the chain going each day until you reach December 31. This way you will know for sure how well you’ve kept that resolution as you wont have to guess because it’s plainly written out in your journal.
